A lot of these files have been collected by an individual with a handheld cassette player in a big meeting room, hence the sound quality is not always top rate. I have found if you mess around with the volume base and treble you can significantly improve the sound quality. You will improve them again if you are able to listen to them through headphones. Base trebel, Volume Etcetera. Open volume control panel "play control". Open file menu, make sure that the advanced options is checked. Click on advanced button bottom left hand corner. Twiddle away.
